home and the city

Home and the city are two complete opposite things. Home doesn't have any buildings taller than two stories, no shopping malls, hell, there aren't any stop lights either. A lone 4 way stop lies in the center of this little village. It's so small, i'm not even sure you could call it that. But it is always nice coming back here every little while.

Here is where the family is. At least a good bunch of them. Good to see some of them tonight, and tomorrow again before I head back to the city.

It's so peaceful here and everything seems to move in slow motion. It makes the city seem like a scarier place, everybody in a rush to get somewhere, to do something in different places, to not talk to mostly everyone around them unless there's a good reason or they know them.

Around here, I seem to know everybody. Every time I come back there's someone from my childhood or a family friend. You talk to pretty much everybody. In my experiences in the city, you keep your mouth shut and look straight. Which seemed odd to me, especially when I say hello to someone just being nice and them giving you the shun.

Perhaps one day i'll move back to this place. It has everything you need and it proves that having the latest technology isn't high on the priority list because you enjoy life for it's most basic wonders. But for now, I'm a city dweller. I have huge dreams and aspirations and i'm gonna ride this wave as long as it lasts. I know i'll get somewhere some day. I know there will be great things. But I know when it's all over, there's one place i'd like to come back to, and i'm looking forward to that day as well.
