still around

still living still around. still not caring much of the usual gramatical corrections. working long, working hard. going home for christmas and coming back to find out in the next month or so if i'll have a chance to take a vacation in the next year or so.

2006 = an up for me

2007 = if it becomes a down, it will be the beginning of something that will change the world. sure, i'm drunk now, but I can dream.

There was once a boy who lived in Holland during WWII. He was young, but had an older brother. The older brother was old enough to work so he was supposed to be sent to work in a factory to assist the Germans. He was instead sent to both work and hide on a farm not far from home, but it was all quite secret. He wasn't the only one. The farmer's family had taken in a few of those boys who were supposed to be sent to work for the Germans.

One day a German solder had become suspicious about this Dutch farmer. He put him in a canoe, tied up and loaded with explosives and pushed him out into a river. The Germans never found the boys the farmer was hiding. Years later the boy would go back to his family. About 50 years later his younger brother, my grandfather, Opa in Dutch, would tell me this story. It is one of the most memorable stories he has ever told me.

I am a warrior

Once in a while you have no choice but to do what you must to protect you and your own. Such was the case about a week ago, as it was earlier tonight when another species of evil crept into my humble abode. We'll start with the first incident.

It all started in a Starship Troopers like state. A huge bug, a kind of morphed cricket/african voodoo bug/dung beetle mix of evil. Somehow, somewhere it got into my room and started flying around. This creature crept into my space and it was the last thing it would do. As it flew up into my ceiling light, I flicked the glass to disturb this hell creature and it made its first - and final attack. It flew straight at me, aiming for my eyes, but misjudged my agility as I took cover. Some may say that cover was my duvet cover. The point is that upon returning from my retreat he lived no longer than a few minutes. Guts scraped down a side of a tv (borrowed, oops). So roung one with my war with the unnature hell bugs came to a gut smeared end. He also let out some God-Awful smell too...

Round two was later this evening when a steroid freak wasp came out of nowhere in the living room. Every species has a weakness. The weakness for moron bugs are lights. So I set up the decoy aka light above the table and waited. Reinforced cardboard tube in hand, I waited for him to tire and when he flew a bit too low....BLAM! REINFORCED CARDBOARD TUBE AKA BAT OF DEATH = KILL!

HUMAN 2 - BUGS 0

As a forewarning to bugs everywhere: If you enter my domain, I will crush you.

Other than that not too much going on...

....oh yeah i'm moving in a week and a half....almost forgot about that one. Hmph. I'll be moving three times in just over a year. I might be the only person in the world who is starting to hate the smell of boxes. Other than people who are allergic to boxes, I suppose.

read fast

first and foremost, this is going to be the fastest written blog ever, so i recommend you read it fast too.

for starters, started editing the romance documentary this week, things are going slowly, but well. i think it will look quite good by the end and am looking forward to seeing it air on Bravo.

Second, Gangsters party of summer 2006 is tomorrow. it was supposed to be downtown. that has changed. its now taking place at an italian wedding reception for which we are kind of crashing. So we'll all be dressed as fake gangsters and will inevitably be killed by the real gangsters who will be in attendance and unhappy about us intruding, drinking the cheap beer and arriving drunk. This is the kind of party I enjoy organizing and having put together and is now in full motion and will not let it NOT happen.

Thirdly, I think cocaine would help me get through this next week which is going to be retardedly busy, starting sunday for which i am now working. though I guarantee I will not be doing any cocaine.

Fourth, my nose is runny and i have no fucking idea why.

fifth, i have two beers left in the fridge. I should leave at least one left for Dana, but that may depend on what time she calls tonight.

sixth, I want to take a vacation this summer but it is unlikely. perhaps in the fall.

seventh, had a great weekend this past weekend. Dana and I went to a really nice hotel downtown and had an amazing time. I bought a 50$ bottle of champagne and we drank it on a makeshift couch I made on the balcony of the top floor we were on, from all the couches and chairs in the suite we had. Sat up high and watched the downtown atmosphere which was a moment i will remember for some time.

eighth, I have to stop being sappy in this blog, it will stop now.

ninth, to prove this I am going to drink the rest of the beer.

tenth, i will do my best to update more often

eleventh, email me if you want to come to the gangsters party. it is happening SATURDAY. Predrink is at my place. main party is the wedding crash. after party is at whatever bar works if we have to leave/are kicked out early.

twelfth, is that how you write twelfth, or is it twelvth?

thirteenth, i need to do some more fucking cleaning.....oy

fourteenth, i need to get more than 4 hours of sleep a night during the week from now on. It's killing me slowly, but a 6 hour night has me rested wonderfully. sleeping in on the weekends makes me drousy all day. fuck. i have to get up early to go to the bank tomorrow. shit.

22

When you think about it, twenty two birthdays is a lot of birthdays. When you really think about it you can probably only remember a handful with details, others perhaps a few memories here and there. The pictures will always remind you what cool things you got at the time, make you think where some of that stuff is now and what kind of stuff you look forward to getting now. Though there will always be one thing that will remain constant no matter how many birthdays pass or how many are yet to come; you'll always be with the people you care about that day and all the people who care about you will be there too, or if they can't, they'll be thinking about you all day. Some of the peole who will be there will gladly let someone else cook the steaks because you don't like yours cooked to a crisp while others know just being there will be a good time because you're always caring, loving and just an all around great person and people love being close to you.

Here's to hoping 22 will find you with the ones you love, the ones who love you and perhaps in another couple birthdays, a pug to fill in any empty spots.
