Done Movie 1

Well, didn't exactly get around to doing the daily dose, but all in all, did a lot. Was on set a couple of days, most days though we were a few days ahead of shooting to get sets finished in time. We also tore down the sets after use, which goes a lot faster than building them.

Yesterday was my first official day on the second film, Black Widower. I have a script at home which is a couple weeks old, and is now far different from the new one. I guess they got a new writer and he totally raped the previous writers stuff. That's got to suck large, but as long as they get paid, I spose it can't be the end of the world, just the end of your writing credit on the film (plus, perhaps the end of a happy day when you see your work completely revamped).

I'm going to start writing my own script. My own movie. I have one in mind, thought i'd save it for later on in my career so I know more, but I figure I'll try to use this to start a career. We'll see. This is the religious script and i'll do what I can to make it as controversial as possible, but not enough that at least one company would have courage to make it.

day 3

Today was a pretty good day. Not any screwups, though it was stressful at times. We had to get the house all finished because the Director and DOP were coming at 5 to check the place out and to make sure it was all in working order. So it was a rush to get everything ready for when they came. A lot of working really fast and rearranging and stuff....working with a perfectionist is good like that because there's a better chance things will all be ok, bad thing is they stress out so much that it sometimes takes longer to get some things done because of the stress bubbles that pop from time to time.

Only a 9 hour day so i'm all ready to relax for the next 5-6 days before they need me back again during production. should be both fun and nerve racking, but interesting nonetheless.

The actress is driving down to Ottawa today from New York in a limo. Didn't see her today, but i'm sure i'll be working nearby during the whole production.

Think i'm going home for a few days to unwind and relax then back to the madness next week.

movie set days 1 and 2

so this will probably come to be written sporatic and full of bad grammer, but written nonetheless.

Day 1

Went to the office, no one's there. Luckily the head Costume lady showed up and drove me to one of the sets, the main actress' house. Really nice place. I guess some people have been asking the crew if there's a movie being shot there and it's the common assumption that we just lie and say that nothing's going on, just that someone's moving in. That should work up until the point that we get the actors and movie gear all in there. So far it's just pretty much making an empty house look like a home. Installed lighting in most places, arranged furniture, but up some complicated curtain stuff....13 hour day.

day 2

Montreal day. I was the navigator for the Red. I'll just call him the Red because he's Russian and when he told me that, he said he's from, "russia, you know, soviet union." So that's what i'll call him here. So we go to Montreal and i'm the co-pilot navigator who couldn't. We had two stops, both of which I thought were past montreal, but one was downtown, which totally fucked me up. At one point, Red gave me a map and pointed to a map and said, "we're here, where do we go?" Thing was, where he pointed was where two highways intersect and there was about 14 off ramps going in circles. It was stressful trying to figure that out...Also being that I don't know Montreal at all, and should have planned ahead of time where we were going, but alas, I will know for next time to preplan everything. Absolutely everything. 14.5 hour day.

Last two days have been eating one meal a day. There just doesn't seem to be any other time, and if there is, i'm stressing over something and just don't want to eat because I'd rather try concentrating on something to make sure I understand what's going on. This production so far, is completely different than anything else i've done before, and i'm coming from a completely different angle than what i've become accustomed to in school where i've been doing Directing, Writing, Producing, though producing would probably prove to be even more interesting/stressful/complicated.

So these are two movies back to back and it's gonna get down to the nitty gritty. The star actress is coming to town tomorrow so people are stressing about that. I won't worry about it at all. I'm not going to have any interaction with her jobwise, though if I do talk to her, i've come to understand that though she is a millionaire, she has been in some big movies, a lot of people know her and she's set for life, she's still just a person and if she's a bitch, she's just a rich bitch. And if she's nice, that's always good to see.

Over and out, 5 hours of sleep before another 14 hour day.
